Darkened with age, this sturdy garden basket has been used for many years, but is still holding up strong and will make a great decorative addition to your farmhouse or colonial decor. Of course, it is still strong enough to be used in the garden. This Antique Peterboro Gardening Basket may have been used around the time Bunny Mellon was using her’s, as written about in the Wall Street Journal (here). The darkening around the rivets is a feature of the hardwood. Some indistinguishable writing on the handle gives the basket extra character. Circa early 1900's
The basket is approximately 21"W X 12"D X 6"H, 12½"H to the top of the handle.
