This antique, circa 1930, ice bucket basket is reminiscent of warm days of Summer on the porch, with drink in hand and jazz on the Victrola.
A heavy plastic insert is fastened to the basket. The weave changes thickness at the bottom to provide a unique and, obviously long-lasting, decorative weave. The weave crisscrosses on the bottom for more strength and stability. A heavy, ornate knob adorns the notched lid which fits inside the insert to seal the bucket.
The basket is approximately 9"Diameter (10" wide at the hadles) X 13"H, 12½"H to the top of the handle. This basket predates the Peterboro Brass medallion, but a stamp on the underside of the lid, verifies its authenticity as a genuine antique Peterboro Basket.
