I purchased the large Peterboro bike basket from REI and love it, however, without this additional stabilizing piece it bounces around a bit. This bicycle post piece tucks into the weaving of the basket and braces against the handlebar stem beautifully, holding my basket steady, stable and secure. This is a great addition to the function of the basket.
I love my bike basket so wanted this addtional piece to stabilize the basket. I have tried several positions both in attaching it to the basket & where I tie it to my bike. Sometimes it gets disloged from where I had tied it and is ineffective as a brace. Seems like I have a found a good placment now, so will just see how it goes. You may have to attempt several different combo's to get the right fit. But it is helpful to hold the basket out from the bike when it works.
